Our Christmas Weekend

We had a pretty good weekend. Saturday we went to Commerce in the morning and had breakfast with Santa. Luckily i am such an early bird, that we got there before santa. He came in shortly after us, ho ho hoing and gave the kids a candy cane. After that he was seated for pictures and that was all he did. My kids will not sit in his lap. they enjoyed eating there donuts and watching other kids sit on his lap, but neither of them are going to get into touching range of him. LOL. The saturday ethan and i headed to corneila to finish christmas shopping. Kmart had some great deals!

Yesterday we wrote Santa a letter. My parents always had Eddie and I write a letter and put it in the window. LOL. they then said that Santa's elves would come pick it up and deliver it to santa. We used to get to excited when Santa's elves came. So, i thought it would be fun to do it with Ethan and Brooke. So, I asked Ethan to tell me what he wanted and what Brooke wanted. We put it in an envelope and put it in the window seal. Ethan also drew santa 2 pictures. I called my mom and told her about it yesterday, she reminded me not to forget to get them out. I almost did and that would have been bad. But, i have them hidden away. I think they will be cute to keep at this young age and show them when they are older. In the letter i wrote just what Ethan said. It will be cute to read later on. So, when Ethan got up this morning, he was so happy to see the letter and pictures were gone! He got out of the car this morning telling the car line lady that the elves got his letter for santa and now santa knew he wanted a rocket!

Friday is Brooklynn's 2nd birthday! I can't belive it will be 2 years already. She is a little attitude girl. And the newest thing is the word "MINE". Ugh......! Ethan never went through that stage. I think this stage is going to be my breaking point. She will get so mad if she think something is hers. She tackled Ethan down one day b/c she wanted what he had. I can't even fold clothes without her saying, mine over and over. She wants to take them and not let me fold them. It is funny. Girls are so much more emotional at this age then boys. Not sure if i will ever be ready for the teenage years.

Well, hope everyone is having a happy monday. I am cleaning out! And doing some cleaning. I have 4 kids tomorrow, a hubby home wednesday who always makes a mess, and 4 kids thursday and friday. Saturday my parents come up, hoping house is still somewhat clean...lol.

We are still here

For those who read us, we are still here. I either pulled a muscle in my back or had a kidney infection. the doctors treated me for both. So, i was stuck on the couch for over a week with tons of pain.

Thanksgiving was great. We went down to Alex's family in augusta. Friday morning Alex and i actually went out for our first time on black friday. We did get some great deals. We got a lot of movies and we only spent around $70! I was proud of us. We then went to my parents today and ate leftovers with them. My mom and i then went birthday shopping for Brooklynn. We had a small party for her in Augusta so Alex's sister could be there to help celebrate Brooke's birthday. We are then giving her the gift we got her on her actual birthday and then my parents are coming over that saturday after. Doing it a little different. I really wanted to get her a good gift instead of doing a party.

Tomorrow we have someone coming to look at the house. I am kinda excited and kinda not. I really don't want to move. Even though i know we need a bigger house, i am just comfortable where i am. this is my home. Even though it is small and not as fancy as others, i just like it. In a new home, i look foward to a play room! Maybe a more wide open floor plan. But, i am just as happy here.

Oh well, i will try to get a picture post of this week. The kids are changing so fast!

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. I am off to workout hopefully this week. As long as my back lets me :)

week

It has been a pretty good week.  Tonight Karen is coming for the weekend.  Both kids are VERY excited.  Tomorrow we are headed to the pumpkin patch.  Alex's mom and grandma are coming.  My parents are meeting us there.  Plus Tom and Jess with there kids.  And Karen with her boyfriend Aaron!  Big group! LOL.

This week Brooklynn's speech has changed a lot.  She is talking more words.  She loves to watch Super Why and she is saying letters now! YAY!  When you ask her to spell something, she makes little syllabal noises then claps and laughs.  It is cute!  She has been using the potty some still.  Not as good as it was last sunday.  But, she is trying.  One day she wants the big potty, the next day she wants her little potty.  She wears panties all day.  Or when daddy isn't home, she just does with nothing down there.  Nakedness doesn't bug me.

Ethan had a great week too.  He is being such a little helper.  He helps me with dishes, clean up.  He loves to dust. LOL.  He also loves to get onto Brooklynn for not cleaning up.  He is growing like a weed.  Oh, and he is not marrying Georgia Ann anymore.  Not sure what happened.  Georgia Ann saw me yesterday at school and she asked me why Ethan wasn't her friend anymore.  It broke my heart.  She is so cute!  He says he is now marrying Cheyanne.  Who knows.

Oh well, i need to get cleaned up.  i have company coming today.  Brooke's friends dominic and zoe are coming over to play!  Hoping the rains holds  off so we can have a picnic.  But, looking outside right now, not so sure that will happen!

Have a great weekend!

Cute Trail we found

We discovered a cute little walking trail/ bike trail yesterday.  Its back behind the horse arena here in homer.  It was gorgeous, quite and nothing near by.  Ethan was free to ride his bike.  Brooke was free to sit in the stroller or run along.  And i actually got a peaceful walk with no stress!  Normally when we walk the neighborhood i spend time worrying about big dogs trying to fight odie, getting onto ethan for running in the middle of the road and so on.  Never helps when i am walking to get rid of my stress.    Anyway, enjoy the pics!

Peaceful stream/creek

As i said, Brooklynn loved the stream :)

If you didn't see them, so cute shots of the kids from over the weekend under this entry!

Fall crafts

Its Fall and that means it is time for some fun crafts with the kids. Yesterday i picked up a bag of mini pumpkins while shopping so the kids could have some fun painting them. They had fun. I think it was Brooklynn's 1st time with paint. She normally uses the aqua doodle with water and a paint brush for her painting time. She covered herself with paint. Even her nose. Ethan of coarse was a neat freak about it and wipped off any paint that got on him. Like i say all the time, my kids are night and day! The neat freak verses the hurricane! I have about given up on trying to be a neat freak since Brooklynn is almost 2. I used to clean up all day after her and now wait until after dinner. I just try my best to close my eyes and not pay attention to the mess.
Before i post some more pics...it has been requested for me to post a funny story of while Ethan was at his grammys. 1st thing.......Alex's mom had a leak in her wall from the toilet. Both are connected but in seperate bathrooms. So, a hole was cut in the wall for now while fixing the leaking pipe.
Now the funny story. The kids were taking a bath saturday night in there grammy's bathroom. grammy sent Ethan to the hall bathroom to get the shampoo. He was already naked before going. So, his naked butt ran from the room and down to his bathroom. He came back screaming and crying MONSTER!!! He was so upset he got Brooklynn crying. So grammy had 2 naked kids screaming and crying that there was a monster. She was not sure what Ethan felt was a monster. After looking, the light coming from her bathroom was coming through the hole into the hall bathroom and it looked like a hairy monster! How funny. I think the funniest part is imagining 2 naked kids crying and her having to calm them down. LOL.
Ok, time for pics. Enjoy :)

Visit to Grovetown

We had a great weekend visiting with Alex's grandparents. It was so nice to have a weekend away and be with such great family. The kids had a blast playing on there Pop Pops bed being monkeys. And you could tell he really enjoyed having them there. We celebrated Ethan's birthday saturday with another cake. What a lucky boy. Brooke got into the cake before it was time to eat it. It was precious!

Ethan has open house tonight so he gets to meet his new teacher. He is excited about Friday but nervous too. We are back on the topic of why is mommy not going to school with him. He is not sure he wants to eat lunch there either. But, we all have to get there sometimes. I explained that mommy went to school, daddy went to school, even Pop Pops went to school once. And we ALL ate lunch there. I am wondering how nap time will go. He hardly ever naps. And it has not been a daily thing since he was 18 months. He will do great though. I think he is ready to have some time away from us.

We brought Odie home with us. He is doing great so far. The cats are not happy, but hopefully within a week they will all be adjusted. He seems happy to be here. He follows the kids everywhere. We brought him home to get him checked out at our vet since it is so much cheaper. he is 12, so we want to get the senior blood work done to make sure everything is functioning correctly for him. For being 12, he seems like he is in great condition the way he is running around with these kids. He has been hoping on the couches to sit with him. Having fun chasing the cats. He is finally conked out sleeping!

Well, i will try to update tomorrow to let everyone know how meeting the new teacher goes tonight. Have a great day!

Can't wait to see everyone saturday for Ethan's party. He is super excited and can not wait. This seems to be the first year he really gets it. He called his grammy tonight and told her to wrap his bike, put it in a box, and put a bow on it. Such a cutie he is!

Well, i am off to watch baby borrowers. I love this show.....if i had seen it 4 years ago i might however not have a 4 year old. those pre teen years scare me!!!!!

More later! off to e-mail this site to everyone!
