So, we are hiring the first babysitter who isn't family. Kinda exciting and scary. The babysitter came very recommended from a friend who uses her and she is the oldest of 5 children. She was very nice and i am excited about it.
The kids were very excited to meet her. We of coarse talked before the sitter arrived to meet them. We use our best manners. Topics to avoid talking about (as in fart, poop, pee, private parts). To be on their best behavior to impress so the girl would come watch them on sunday.
the door bell rings and the kids are so excited to meet her.
the kids manners must have gotten stuck outside or something because they became these wild kids. These kids who were jumping on my couch and cushions. Being loud. they got whistles and blew them loud in the living room. They just went crazy. Ethan walks over to me and says "Mommy your a jerk!" Wow, was i embaressed. I wanted to act like a jerk to him after he said that, but having company i held my cool and let him know that was not a nice word and then asked him apoloigize to me.
The kids led the babysitter to the play room, and when she got out of there alive, she looked like she had no idea what she was getting herself into. She agreed to come for a few hours sunday while i go to book club. Lets see what happens the next time i call.
Beware of these kids.....they are WILD!

Ethan's Conferance
Ethan's parent teacher conferance was yesterday. He's a genius! That's all i can say. No, he is doing wonderful. Right on track to head to first grade. There doesn't seem to be any concerns that he won't be ready. He is reading at kindergarten level. I think they higher end. So, that is good. Their are areas we need to be working on with him. Math, he is awesome his teacher said. He loves math at school and at home. She said it is nothing for Ethan to just sit down and write the numbers 1-100. We are very proud of him. His behavior has gotten better. I am happy to report, he is doing well!

Pictures
I have been trying to figure out the camera on my new phone. Its suppose to be an excellent camera. And i am sure it is, however it is very complicated. So, some of these pictures may be a bit dark. But, i am learning. Hopefully soon i will have the new camera down! So bear with me with any bad pictures. I have found a mode i like on the camera for inside pics and that is putting it on "intelligent". there are several modes. Even one that is a facial makeover when you take a picture. Enjoy the pics.

it took 5 years...but it happend
I knew there were those moms out there who had kids music in their cars for their children to listen too. I knew people who were thankful to have the kids out of the car so they could listen to "their" music on the radio. I never understood. Why should i let my kids have control on the radio when i am the one driving. I listen to country. It isn't bad music. They can just listen to it too!
Two months ago something happend. I found a kids music CD and it had little tea pot on it. So before leaving the house, Brooke asked if she could listen to it in the car. Sure, why not i thought?
Two months later, there are currently 4 kids music CD's in my cd player in the car. I find myself going down the road singing "do you ears hang low, do they wobble to and through, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow, do your ears hang low."
Thanks Brooke......i am now that mommy!!! After 5 years....i lost the radio to the kids. Is there a support group for this?

hurt feelings
Brooklynn has always been one who follows you around, talks to you constintly and so on. Normally when she gets to be too much you can get her to leave you alone by redirecting her with coloring or something. However, this past week that has not been working. She just doesn't quite. She will get on a kick about something such as wanting you to dance with her. I will dance. Then when i want to stop because i need to do something but she just keeps going. I can ask her to please let mommy be and she still keeps it up. Unfourtantly, snapping at her to stop lately has been what we have had to do. She then runs to a corner and hides her face and silently cries. I feel horrible and so does Alex. The look she gets is like you have just broken her heart. But most of the time, we have really tried getting her to do something else at that moment, but she gets so obsessed on wanting you to do what she wants that she just refuses to listen.
I know this is normal of kids. And she will eventually go back to doing something else. She will learn from these hurt feelings then when enough is enough, then it is enough. But in the process i hate having to see her run away and cry silently because mommy or daddy have hurt her feelings. I don't know if this is different for girls then boys. I do remember Ethan going through this little stage. I think he just finally quite and did something else. I honestly can't remember what he did. Then again, Brooke has always been more of one who is attatched to your leg then Ethan. He has always been fairly independent.
This is one stage with Brooke i hope she outgrows fast. I know she is sensetive, she has always been. I just hate knowing i am hurting her feelings.
